2026年の干支は「午」であります。
この午にちなんだチェーンソアートパフォーマンスを開催します！

このパフォーマンスは、伐採された木を活用し、チェーンソーを用いて今年の干支である「午（うま）」を作り出します。

午は、古来より神聖な存在として扱われ、神社や祭事において神様に奉納されるなど、特別な意味を持つ動物とされてきました。その気高く清らかな姿から、幸運や成功、物事の好転を象徴するといわれています。

また一部地域や伝承においては、午は神の使いとして人々を正しい道へ導き、豊かさや繁栄をもたらす存在とも考えられております。

開催時期である節分は、旧暦の正月に近い節目の行事です。旧正月に改めて干支である「午」をチェーンソーアートで表現するこのパフォーマンスは、ご覧いただく皆さまに新たな福と前向きな一年の始まりを感じていただけるかもしれません。

このパフォーマンスを行うのは、チェーンソアートにおいて世界一ともされている賞を数々受賞され、日本のみならず世界各地でそのパフォーマンスを披露されている和歌山県田辺市龍神村の城所ケイジさんです。

The zodiac sign for 2026 is the Horse.
To celebrate this, we will be hosting a special chainsaw art performance inspired by the Horse!
In this performance, felled trees will be reused and transformed into a sculpture of this year’s zodiac sign, the Horse, using a chainsaw.
Since ancient times, the horse has been regarded as a sacred animal. It has been offered to deities at shrines and festivals and has long been considered a creature of special significance. With its noble and pure appearance, the horse is said to symbolize good fortune, success, and positive change.
In some regions and traditions, the horse is also believed to be a messenger of the gods, guiding people along the right path and bringing prosperity and abundance.
The event will be held around Setsubun, a seasonal turning point that is considered close to the Lunar New Year. Expressing the zodiac sign of the Horse through chainsaw art at this time of renewal may bring new blessings and a positive start to the year for all who attend.
This performance will be presented by Keiji Kidokoro from Ryujin Village, Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture—an artist who has won numerous awards regarded as among the highest honors in the world of chainsaw art, and who has showcased his performances not only throughout Japan but also around the globe.
